On a southern drive from Dublin, leaving horizontal slicing rains, across acres of game land and fox hunts, and upon the coastal edge of Muir Eireann, sits the Lodge House. 

A dose-and-a-half of Knackers, clamped or be towed, but come as you may and don't leave until you're proper Craic! A real proper get-a-way, (no, please, I really mean, GET AWAY!) a death-defying assembly of sticks, brass, concrete and hangovers, the children will always find another way to throw themselves over the floating crib in lullaby.

A vision of sky, of sea, of quiet, of warmth, of wind, of rain, of fire, hunker down with a thick pot in hand, a cube in glass or a skin wrapped tight, this home defines what architecture can and cannot undo - make the Irish sky split in two and cast a brilliant ray of sunshine; but just for a minute.
