CHELSEA APARTMENT

Commissioned by an art collector and film editor living in a garden apartment in Chelsea, the program was to provide an art wall, a new kitchen and a communal area for dining in an open space.

Stripping the walls back to the original brick and painted white provides a textured backdrop for art.  The new kitchen, located centrally in the apartment, opens to both the front and back rooms with views to the gardens.  The custom arc table provides a natural flow for circulation and the shape references the curve of vintage film reels.  The classically modern palette of walnut, stone and steel compliments the reclaimed oak flooring and revived masonry wall of the original structure.
