SCOOTER HOUSE I
TORONTO, ON
2011
This little shed was built to provide the Owner with storage for his seemingly constant turnover of Vespa scooters. A DIY repair shop, the drop down door doubles as a work surface. The materiality and shape of the shed is a mirror of the existing Kitchen extension of the house. With no electricity brought to the shed, the roof is held off the perimeter walls by a clerestory of polycarbonate, an inexpensive but beautiful material offering an invitation to the light.
